Holly Hickmore trained at The Hungarian School of Art where she was exposed to a classical education with a strong grounding in anatomy before returning home to set up her studio in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. Hickmore works on public and private commissions alongside her own practice, often finding inspiration from the wildlife surrounding her whilst frequently returning to the subject of the horse. Hickmore strives to find the essence of her subject, to create a felt response through a continual dialogue between form, material and subject.
